Todd McGowan: podcast appearances and interviews

Todd McGowan is an American film scholar, philosopher, and professor of English at the University of Vermont. He teaches film and cultural theory and works on topics including Hegel, psychoanalysis, and existentialism. His research explores the intersection of these philosophical traditions with cinema. McGowan is the author of more than 15 books and serves as the editor of the Film Theory in Practice series published by Bloomsbury. He is also a co-editor of the Diaeresis series at Northwestern University Press, working alongside Slavoj Žižek and Adrian Johnston. His work has been characterized as exploring the so-called Politics of Death Drive. McGowan is a cohost of the podcast Why Theory, which he produces with Ryan Engley.
