Thor Pedersen, born on June 14, 1945, is a Danish author and former politician. He served as a member of the Folketinget from 1985 to 2011, representing the Liberal party, Venstre. During his political career, Pedersen held several ministerial positions including Minister of Housing from 1986 to 1987, Minister of the Interior from 1987 to 1993, Minister for Nordic Cooperation from 1988 to 1992, and Minister of Economic Affairs from 1992 to 1993. He was the Finance Minister from November 2001 to November 2007 under the Cabinets of Anders Fogh Rasmussen I and II. Pedersen also served as a member of Helsinge Municipal Council from 1974 to 1986, where he was mayor from 1978 to 1986. In addition to his political career, he has authored works that contribute to his recognition in the field of literature.
