Symone Danielle Sanders-Townsend is an American political strategist and commentator. She has served as a senior advisor to Vice President Kamala Harris and was previously a senior advisor for the 2020 presidential campaign of Joe Biden. Sanders has also held the role of chief spokesperson during her tenure with Vice President Harris. She is a former national press secretary for Bernie Sanders' 2016 presidential campaign. In addition to her political work, Sanders has been a media commentator; in October 2016, she was hired as a political commentator by CNN. She currently co-hosts the MSNBC program The Weeknight and hosts The Weekend alongside Alicia Menendez and Michael Steele.
