Sunny Michaela Sweeney, born on December 7, 1976, is an American country singer-songwriter known for her releases spanning country and Americana genres. Raised in Texas, she was exposed to music from an early age but initially pursued careers in acting and comedy after graduating from Texas State University in 2001. Following several jobs, she decided to pursue music professionally and gained a regional following after forming a band. Her music eventually caught the attention of Big Machine Records, which released her debut studio album Heartbreaker's Hall of Fame in 2007. Although its singles did not achieve commercial success, the album helped establish her presence in the industry. She later signed with Republic Nashville, which released her second studio album, Concrete. The album's lead single, From a Table Away, became a top 10 hit on the US Hot Country Songs chart in 2011.
