Amy Elizabeth Ray, born on April 12, 1964, is an American singer-songwriter and a member of the contemporary folk duo Indigo Girls, alongside Emily Saliers. In addition to her work with the duo, Ray has pursued a solo career, releasing ten albums under her own name. She is also the founder of Daemon Records, an independent label established in 1989. Ray is recognized for her vocal range, which spans alto and tenor, and she plays multiple instruments including electric and acoustic guitar, mandolin, and harmonica.
