Stuart Campbell McDonald, born on May 2, 1978, is a Scottish politician affiliated with the Scottish National Party. He served as the Member of Parliament for the Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East constituency from 2015 to 2024. During his time in Parliament, McDonald was a member of the House of Commons Home Affairs Select Committee. He held the position of SNP Spokesperson for Justice and Immigration from 2022 to 2023 and previously served as the SNP Shadow Home Secretary from 2021 to 2022. His role as the SNP Spokesperson on Immigration, Asylum and Border Control spanned from 2015 to 2021. In the 2015 general election, McDonald was elected by unseating the incumbent Labour MP, Gregg McClymont. His election marked the first time an SNP member represented Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East, a constituency covering parts of North Lanarkshire and East Dunbartonshire. Since 2023, he has held the position of Treasurer of the SNP.
