Steve Bannon: podcast appearances and interviews

Stephen Kevin Bannon is an American media executive, Republican political strategist, pundit, and former investment banker. He served as the White House's chief strategist for the first seven months of President Donald Trump's administration before being dismissed. Bannon was also the executive chairman of Breitbart News, a position he held after his tenure in the White House. Since 2019, he has hosted the War Room podcast. Bannon's background includes service as an officer in the United States Navy from 1977 to 1983, followed by work at Goldman Sachs as an investment banker. In 1993, he became acting director of the research project Biosphere 2, and he served as an executive producer for 18 Hollywood films from 1991 to 2016. In 2007, he co-founded Breitbart News, which he described in 2016 as a platform for the alt-right. During the mid-2010s, Bannon held the position of vice president at Cambridge Analytica, a firm involved in data collection and political campaigns. In 2016, he became the chief executive officer of Donald Trump's presidential campaign and was subsequently appointed chief strategist and senior counselor to the president. His time in the White House was marked by advocating an anti-establishment platform and clashes with other staff members. After leaving the administration, Bannon opposed the Republican Party establishment and supported insurgent candidates in primary elections. He has also been involved in supporting nationalist political movements globally and advised Jeffrey Epstein on media relations before Epstein's arrest. Bannon faced legal troubles related to fundraising and was pardoned by President Trump in 2020; however, he later faced charges in New York and pleaded guilty to fraud in 2025. Additionally, Bannon was convicted and sentenced for contempt of Congress related to the January 6 investigation.
