Shauna Macdonald: podcast appearances and interviews

Shauna Macdonald is a Scottish actress recognized for her work in film and television. She began her career with a role in The Debt Collector in 1999 and achieved her breakthrough as Sam Buxton in the television series Spooks from 2003 to 2004. Macdonald is perhaps best known for her performance as Sarah Carter in the horror film The Descent (2005), a role that garnered widespread praise and a Saturn Award nomination for Best Actress. Her portrayal established her as a scream queen and she reprised her role in the sequel The Descent Part 2 in 2009. She has continued to act in horror films including Mutant Chronicles, Howl, Nails and White Chamber, the latter earning her the Scottish BAFTA Award for Best Actress. Macdonald has also appeared in other film and television projects such as Filth, In Plain Sight, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and The Cry. In addition to her acting career, she is the voice of Professor Squawkencluck in the 2015 revival of the animated series Danger Mouse. Since 2014, Macdonald has served as the co-artistic director of Edinburgh Youth Theatre in Bellfield. She also runs her own company, If In Doubt Shout, which provides public speaking classes.
