Sharleen Eugene Spiteri, born on November 7, 1967, is a Scottish singer-songwriter and guitarist known as the lead vocalist of the band Texas. She gained prominence in 1989 with the release of Texas's debut single I Don't Want a Lover and their debut album Southside, which sold over two million copies. Although subsequent albums were less commercially successful, the release of their fourth album White on Blonde in 1997 marked a resurgence in popularity.
