Shane Black is an American film director, screenwriter, and actor born on December 16, 1961. He is recognized for his distinct style of action and action comedy films. Black is credited with originating the Lethal Weapon franchise and has written several notable films including The Monster Squad, The Last Boy Scout, Last Action Hero, and The Long Kiss Goodnight. As an actor, he is perhaps best known for his role as Hawkins in the film Predator. Black made his directorial debut with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang in 2005 and has since directed and written several other films, including Iron Man 3, The Nice Guys, The Predator, and Play Dirty. Besides his work in Hollywood, he is affiliated with Canada North Outfitting.
