Ronald Scott Stevens, born on April 1, 1964, is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and current coach. As a defenseman, he played 22 seasons in the National Hockey League for the Washington Capitals, St. Louis Blues, and New Jersey Devils. He served as captain of the Devils from 1992 to 2004. Known for his defensively oriented play and heavy bodychecking, Stevens was an offensively capable player whose style contributed significantly to his team's success.

Stevens began his NHL career with the Capitals, helping the franchise reach the Stanley Cup playoffs for the first time. After one season with the Blues, he was acquired by the Devils through arbitration. As captain of the Devils, he embodied the team's defense-first mentality, leading them to four Stanley Cup Finals and securing three championships. In 2000, he was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player of that year's playoff series. Despite his team achievements, he never received the James Norris Memorial Trophy as the league's best defenseman.

Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2007, Stevens retired with the record for most games played by an NHL defenseman at the time, with 1,635 games. He was the youngest player to reach 1,500 games at age 37 years and 346 days. Throughout his career, Stevens maintained a positive plus/minus rating in every season and accumulated the most penalty minutes among Hall of Fame defensemen until 2013. In 2017, he was named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players in history.
