Rami Sebei, born on July 12, 1984, is a Canadian professional wrestler known for his career in WWE where he performs under the ring name Sami Zayn. He has been signed to WWE since 2013 and competes on the SmackDown brand. Sebei made his professional wrestling debut in 2002 under the ring name Stevie McFly. Before joining WWE, he competed in various promotions including the Montreal-based International Wrestling Syndicate, where he became a two-time IWS World Heavyweight Champion. He achieved particular success in the United States with Los Angeles-based Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and Philadelphia-based Ring of Honor. During his time in PWG, he became a two-time PWG World Champion and a five-time PWG World Tag Team Champion, and is the only person to have won both of PWG's annual tournaments. As El Generico, a masked luchador character, he also held titles such as the ROH World Television Championship and the ROH World Tag Team Championship. Sebei has competed internationally in Germany for Westside Xtreme Wrestling, where he held the wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship, as well as in Japan for DDT Pro-Wrestling and Dragon Gate. Upon signing with WWE, he adopted the ring name Sami Zayn and initially wrestled in NXT, winning the NXT Championship. In WWE, he has become a four-time Intercontinental Champion, two-time United States Champion, and has held the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships with Kevin Owens. His career highlights include winning the WWE Championship in 2026, cementing his status as a Grand Slam and Triple Crown Champion.
