Samantha McKiver Irby is an American comedian, essayist, blogger, and television writer. She is known for creating and authoring the blog bitches gotta eat, where she shares humorous observations about her personal life and society. Irby is the author of the best-selling books We Are Never Meeting in Real Life and Wow, No Thank You. Both titles achieved recognition on the New York Times bestseller list. She received the 2021 Lambda Literary Award for bisexual nonfiction. Irby has contributed as a writer and supervising producer to various television shows, including HBO's Sex and the City reboot And Just Like That... She has also worked on series such as Work in Progress, Shrill, and Tuca & Bertie. In 2016, FX announced plans to adapt her 2013 memoir Meaty along with her blog into a television series.
