Samuel Henry John Worthington is an Australian actor known for his work in both independent Australian cinema and Hollywood. He gained recognition early in his career with performances in films such as Bootmen and Somersault, the latter of which earned him Australia's highest film award for Best Actor. Worthington also appeared in the television series Love My Way. His international fame was notably elevated by his role as the protagonist in James Cameron’s Avatar, which became the highest-grossing film of all time. He reprised this role in the film's sequels. In addition to Avatar, he starred in major studio productions including Terminator Salvation, Clash of the Titans, and Wrath of the Titans. Worthington has also lent his voice to the lead character Alex Mason in the Call of Duty: Black Ops video game series.
