Sam Phillips: podcast appearances and interviews

Sam Phillips is the Digital Strategies Lead at Siemens. While his current role focuses on digital initiatives within the company, his background includes a diverse career in the music industry. Phillips was the founder of Sun Records and Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, where he produced recordings by notable artists such as Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, and Howlin' Wolf. His work in the 1950s was instrumental in the development of rock and roll and in launching Elvis Presley's career. In 1969, Phillips sold Sun Records to Shelby Singleton. Besides his work in music production, he owned and operated radio stations in Memphis, Florence, Alabama, and Lake Worth Beach, Florida. Additionally, he was an early investor in the Holiday Inn hotel chain and was known for his advocacy for racial equality, contributing to efforts to break down racial barriers in the music industry.
