Sir Roderick David Stewart, born on January 10, 1945, is a British singer and songwriter recognized for his distinctive raspy singing voice. He has achieved significant commercial success, selling more than 120 million records worldwide. His music career began in 1962 when he started busking with a harmonica and subsequently joined various bands. In 1967, he became a member of the Jeff Beck Group, and in 1969, he joined Faces. That same year, he launched a solo career with the release of his debut album, An Old Raincoat Won't Ever Let You Down. Early in his solo career, Stewart's albums combined elements of rock, folk, soul, and R&B. His 1971 album, Every Picture Tells a Story, was his breakthrough, reaching the top of the charts in multiple countries and featuring the hit single Maggie May. His subsequent albums, including Never a Dull Moment and Night on the Town, maintained commercial success, with several reaching number one and producing chart-topping singles like You Wear It Well and Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright). After the breakup of Faces in 1975, Stewart continued his success with albums such as Atlantic Crossing, Blondes Have More Fun, and the notable disco hit Da Ya Think I'm Sexy? In later years, his musical style evolved to softer rock, with hits like Rhythm of My Heart. Recognized as one of the top artists of all time, Stewart has received numerous awards, including induction into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the UK Music Hall of Fame.
