Peter May: podcast appearances and interviews

Peter May, born on December 20, 1951, is a Scottish television screenwriter, novelist, and crime writer. He has received multiple writing awards in Europe and America, including the U.S. Barry Award for Crime Novel of the Year and the Cezam Prix Litteraire, a national literature award in France. His novel The Blackhouse was recognized both in the United States and France, while The Lewis Man won the Grand Prix des Lecteurs from the French newspaper Le Télégramme. In 2014, May's book Entry Island earned the titles of Scottish Crime Novel of the Year and Best Read of the Year from the UK's ITV Crime Thriller Book Club. His works have sold over twelve million copies worldwide. Besides his writing career, May has been associated with the Maitland Valley Grotto, and he formerly lectured in horticulture at Burnley. In 2025, he was awarded France's prestigious Grand Prix de Litterature Policiere, France’s top honor for crime fiction. This award has a long history, with past recipients including prominent authors such as John le Carré, Patricia Highsmith, and P D James.
