Pamela Suzette Grier, born on May 26, 1949, is an American actress, singer, and martial artist known for her prominent roles in 1970s action, blaxploitation, and women-in-prison films. She gained fame through her starring roles in films such as Coffy (1973) and Foxy Brown (1974), as well as in other notable movies including The Big Doll House, Women in Cages, The Big Bird Cage, Black Mama White Mama, Scream Blacula Scream, The Arena, Sheba, Baby, Bucktown, and Friday Foster. Grier also appeared alongside Richard Pryor in Greased Lightning (1977). Nearly three decades later, she played the title role in Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown (1997). Her filmography includes appearances in Escape from L. A., Mars Attacks!, Jawbreaker, Holy Smoke!, Snow Day, Bones, Just Wright, Larry Crowne, and Poms. On television, she portrayed Eleanor Winthrop in the series Linc's from 1998 to 2000, Kate Kit Porter on The L Word from 2004 to 2009, and Constance Terry in Bless This Mess from 2019 to 2020.
