Noel Gallagher is an English musician, singer, and songwriter known for his role in the band Oasis. He served as the primary songwriter, lead guitarist, and co-lead vocalist of the band. Gallagher began playing guitar at age twelve and was involved in the music scene early on, working as a roadie and technician for Inspiral Carpets when he was 21. His brother Liam Gallagher was a band member in Oasis, which Liam initially managed. Gallagher joined Oasis on the condition of controlling the band's creative direction, becoming the de facto leader and the sole credited writer for the first three studio albums. Oasis achieved significant success with their debut album, Definitely Maybe, in 1994, followed by the chart-topping (What's the Story) Morning Glory? in 1995 and Be Here Now in 1997. Despite changes in musical trends, Oasis maintained popularity with additional number-one albums and singles, notably in the UK. The band's later albums, Don't Believe the Truth and Dig Out Your Soul, released in 2005 and 2008, respectively, were seen as some of their best works in over a decade. Gallagher's time in Oasis was marked by internal disputes, particularly with his brother Liam, which often garnered tabloid attention, alongside the band's rivalry with Blur. After leaving Oasis in 2009 following a public altercation, Gallagher founded Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. With this band, he has released four studio albums.
