Nick Kemp: podcast appearances and interviews

Nick Kemp is an author and advocate for the Japanese philosophy of ikigai and is associated with the Ikigai Tribe. His background includes a career as a professional cricketer and a businessman. Kemp was born in Bromley in Greater London and was educated at Tonbridge School. He began playing cricket for Kent County Cricket Club's Second XI in 1974 and toured the West Indies with a Young England side in 1976. He made his first-class debut for Kent in May 1977 against the touring Australians and went on to make 13 first-class appearances for the Kent First XI. Additionally, he played in eight limited-overs matches for Kent between 1977 and 1981, primarily in the role of a bowling all-rounder. In 1982, he transferred to Middlesex, where he participated in five first-class matches and one limited-overs game. Over his first-class cricket career, he took a total of 16 wickets, with a notable performance of six wickets in a match against Surrey in 1980. After retiring from professional cricket, Kemp pursued a career in wealth management and founded Stoneford Administration Services, a financial services company. His son, Ben, also has a cricketing background, having been part of Kent's Cricket Academy and playing for the county's Second XI as well as in first-class matches for Oxford MCC University.
