About Mosab Abu Toha
Mosab Abu Toha is a Palestinian writer, poet, scholar, and librarian from the Gaza Strip. His debut poetry collection, Things You May Find Hidden in My Ear, was published in 2022 and received multiple accolades, including the Palestine Book Award and an American Book Award. The work was also a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award and the Walcott Prize for Poetry. Abu Toha founded the Edward Said Library, which is Gaza's first English-language library. In November 2023, he was detained by the Israeli army while attempting to flee to Egypt with his family, but he was subsequently released after questioning. Since then, he has continued to chronicle the ongoing conflict from afar. In 2025, Abu Toha was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary for his depiction of the Gaza war in The New Yorker.
