Hala Alyan: podcast appearances and interviews

Hala Alyan is a Palestinian-American writer, poet, and clinical psychologist. She specializes in trauma, addiction, and cross-cultural behavior. Alyan is the author of several books including the novels Salt Houses published in 2017 and The Arsonists' City published in 2021. She also wrote a memoir titled I'll Tell You When I'm Home, which is scheduled for release in 2025, and has published five poetry collections. Her work has received several honors, including the Arab American Book Award in 2013 and the Dayton Literary Peace Prize in 2018. Alyan's memoir won the GLCA New Writers Award for creative nonfiction in 2026 and was longlisted for the 2025 National Book Critics Circle Award. It was also a finalist for the 2026 Pulitzer Prize.
