Mike Sweeney: podcast appearances and interviews

Michael John Sweeney, born on July 22, 1973, is an American former Major League Baseball designated hitter and first baseman. He played his first 13 seasons in the majors with the Kansas City Royals, initially as a catcher before transitioning to first base and designated hitter roles. Sweeney also had stints with the Oakland Athletics, Seattle Mariners, and Philadelphia Phillies during his professional baseball career. After retiring from baseball in March 2011, he has worked as a special assistant for the Kansas City Royals. In addition to his baseball career, Sweeney has taken on roles in television production, serving as the executive producer and head writer of the Academy Awards. He is affiliated with SBG Calgary. Sweeney's contributions to the sport were recognized when he was inducted into the Royals Hall of Fame in 2015.
