Michael J. Fox: podcast appearances and interviews

Michael J. Fox is a Canadian and American actor and activist known for his work in film and television. He began his acting career as a child in the 1970s and gained prominence with his roles on the NBC sitcom Family Ties and in the Back to the Future film trilogy. His film credits also include Teen Wolf, The Secret of My Success, Casualties of War, Doc Hollywood, and The Frighteners. Fox expanded his television career with a leading role on the ABC sitcom Spin City and appeared in various other shows including Rescue Me, The Good Wife, The Good Fight, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. His final major role was in the sitcom The Michael J. Fox Show, which aired from 2013 to 2014, after which he officially retired in 2020. Throughout his career, Fox received numerous awards including five Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and a Grammy Award. He has been recognized with honors such as being appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada and induction into Canada’s Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 1998, Fox disclosed his diagnosis of Parkinson's disease and subsequently became an advocate for research and a cure. He founded The Michael J. Fox Foundation in 2000 to support Parkinson's disease research. His advocacy efforts earned him awards including the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Despite health challenges, Fox has continued to make occasional acting appearances and remains active in advocacy work.
