Marisa Tomei is an American actress born on December 4, 1964. She gained early recognition through her appearances in the soap opera As the World Turns from 1983 to 1985 and in the first season of the sitcom A Different World in 1987. Her career includes notable roles in films such as My Cousin Vinnie, for which she received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1992. She has also been nominated in the same category for her performances in In the Bedroom in 2001 and The Wrestler in 2008. Her filmography features a diverse range of movies including Chaplin, The Paper, What Women Want, Danika, Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead, Wild Hogs, The Ides of March, Crazy, Stupid, Love, Parental Guidance, The Big Short, and The King of Staten Island. In addition to her film work, she portrayed May Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe from Captain America Civil War through Spider-Man No Way Home. Beyond screen acting, Tomei was a founding member of the Naked Angels Theater Company and has appeared off-Broadway and on Broadway, making her debut in Wait Until Dark in 1998 alongside Quentin Tarantino.
