Malcolm Nance: podcast appearances and interviews

Malcolm Wrightson Nance, born in 1961, is an American author and media pundit recognized as a globally acknowledged expert in intelligence and national security. He is a former United States Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer with specialization in naval cryptology. Nance is an intelligence and foreign policy analyst known for his detailed discussions on the history, personalities, and organizational structure of jihadi radicalization, al-Qaeda, and the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant. His expertise extends to Southwest Asian and African terror groups, counterinsurgency, and asymmetric warfare. Nance has learned Arabic and actively contributes to national security policy, particularly in anti- and counter-terrorism intelligence, terrorist strategy and tactics, and counter-ideology efforts combating Islamic extremism. In 2016, he published the book Defeating ISIS: Who They Are, How They Fight, What They Believe, and also authored The Plot to Hack America. In 2014, Nance founded the Terror Asymmetrics Project on Strategy, Tactics and Radical Ideologies, a think tank based in Hudson, New York, where he serves as its executive director.
