Lucy Knisley: podcast appearances and interviews

Lucy Knisley is an American comic artist and musician known for her autobiographical work often centered around food. Her drawn travel journal French Milk was published by Simon & Schuster in October 2008 and received positive reviews from publications such as USA Today and Salon.com. Comics critic Douglas Wolk praised it as 'a keenly observed letter back home' and noted the infectious pleasure Knisley’s work exudes in her depiction of food and company. Knisley earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2007, where she contributed to and edited the comics section of the school newspaper, FNews. She went on to complete a Master of Fine Arts at the Center for Cartoon Studies in 2009. During her time there, she was awarded the 2007 Diamond in the Rough scholarship for her application comic titled Heart Seed Snow Circuit. In 2014, she received an Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction, known as the Alex Awards. Knisley's work combines personal storytelling with artistic expression, making her a notable figure in contemporary comic art.
