Louis Theroux: podcast appearances and interviews

Louis Theroux is a British-American journalist, broadcaster, documentarian, and author born on May 20, 1970. After graduating from Magdalen College, Oxford, he moved to the United States where he worked as a journalist for Metro Silicon Valley and Spy. He also appeared as a presenter of offbeat segments on Michael Moore's television series TV Nation. Theroux is renowned for his extensive body of documentary work with the BBC, which began with Louis Theroux's Weird Weekends in 1998. His documentaries, which include more than fifty BBC Two specials since 2003, often explore unusual and taboo subcultures, the criminal justice system, and celebrities. While most of his work is set in the United States, he has also examined cultures in South Africa, Israel, Nigeria, and the UK. His approach has been described by The New Yorker as "a piercingly humane, slyly funny guide through the funkier passages of American culture." Theroux has received multiple awards, including three British Academy Television Awards and a Royal Television Society Television Award for his work.
