Louis Smith: podcast appearances and interviews

Louis Antoine Smith, born on 22 April 1989, is a retired English artistic gymnast. He is also known for his service as an army veteran and his status as a heart transplant recipient. Smith has achieved notable success in gymnastics, including winning medals at three consecutive Olympic Games. He secured a bronze medal on the pommel horse at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, marking the first time a British gymnast had placed in an Olympic event since 1928. At the 2012 London Olympics, he won a silver medal on the pommel horse and contributed to Great Britain's bronze medal in the men's artistic team all-around. He repeated his silver medal performance on the pommel horse at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Smith was the first British gymnast to win Olympic medals in three separate Games and only the second gymnast after Marius Urzică to win three successive Olympic pommel horse medals. Outside of the Olympics, he has been a successful competitor at the Commonwealth and European levels, becoming the 2006 Commonwealth Games champion and the 2015 European champion. He has also earned four European silver medals and was part of the European gold medal-winning team in 2012. Smith trained at the Huntingdon Gymnastics Club alongside teammate Daniel Keatings under coach Paul Hall. Beyond gymnastics, he has appeared on television, winning the 2012 series of Strictly Come Dancing and the 2021 series of The Masked Dancer.
