Lorraine Bracco is an American actress born on October 2, 1954. She is best known for her portrayal of psychiatrist Jennifer Melfi on the HBO crime drama series The Sopranos, which aired from 1999 to 2007. Bracco gained widespread recognition for her role as Karen Hill in the film Goodfellas, directed by Martin Scorsese and released in 1990. She began her career modeling in France and appeared in Italian-language films during the 1980s.
