Lionel Barrymore: podcast appearances and interviews

Lionel Barrymore was an American actor of stage, screen, and radio, as well as a film director. Born Lionel Herbert Blyth on April 28, 1878, he was part of the prominent Barrymore theatrical family. Barrymore received critical acclaim for his performances, notably winning an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the film A Free Soul in 1931. He is also well known for portraying the villainous Mr. Potter in Frank Capra's 1946 film It's a Wonderful Life. Additionally, Barrymore is remembered for his portrayal of Ebenezer Scrooge in annual broadcasts of A Christmas Carol during his last two decades. He played Dr. Leonard Gillespie in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's nine Dr. Kildare films and reprised this role in six additional films focusing solely on Gillespie.
