Lauren Ashley Daigle (born September 9, 1991) is an American singer and songwriter known for her work in contemporary Christian music. She was signed to Centricity Music, under which she released her debut album, How Can It Be, in 2015. The album reached number one on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart, was certified Platinum by the RIAA, and produced three number-one singles on the Billboard Christian Airplay chart titled First, Trust in You, and O'Lord. Her third studio album, Look Up Child, was released in September 2018 and debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 chart. It became the highest-charting Christian album by a woman in over 20 years and also reached number one on the Top Christian Albums chart, with 115,000 album-equivalent units sold in its first week. The album's lead single, You Say, peaked at number 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent a record-breaking 132 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart. Daigle's work earned her two Grammy Awards, including Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for Look Up Child and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for You Say at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards in 2019. She has also received twelve GMA Dove Awards, six Billboard Music Awards, and four American Music Awards, along with four number-one singles on the Billboard Christian charts. Despite her Christian music roots, Daigle has achieved notable success in mainstream pop music and is recognized as one of the few artists to cross over into broader popular success since Amy Grant in the early 1990s.
