Klay Thompson, born on February 8, 1990, is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Dallas Mavericks in the National Basketball Association. He spent his first thirteen seasons with the Golden State Warriors and is known as one of the best three-point shooters of all time. During his career, Thompson has won four NBA championships and has been selected as an NBA All-Star five times. He has received recognition as a two-time All-NBA Third Team honoree and was once named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team. Thompson also contributed to United States national teams, earning gold medals at the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics. He is the son of former NBA player Mychal Thompson and the brother of NBA player Mychel Thompson and Major League Baseball player Trayce Thompson. Thompson played college basketball for three seasons with the Washington State Cougars, earning two first-team all-conference selections in the Pac-10. He was drafted in the first round of the 2011 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors with the 11th overall pick.
