Kevin James is an American actor and comedian known for his role as Doug Heffernan on the CBS sitcom The King of Queens. He began his career as a stand-up comedian on Long Island in the late 1980s and gained prominence through his television work. James received a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2006 for his role in The King of Queens.
