Shane Gillis: podcast appearances and interviews

Shane Michael Gillis, born on December 11, 1987, is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and podcaster. He began performing comedy in 2012 and co-hosts Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast with Matt McCusker, which as of 2024 is the most subscribed-to podcast on Patreon. Gillis gained prominence in 2019 when the Montreal Just for Laughs festival named him one of its 'New Faces' and he was announced as a cast member on NBC's Saturday Night Live. However, he was dismissed from the show after five days due to controversy surrounding a 2018 podcast clip featuring derogatory language, which sparked ongoing discussions about the context and intent of comedic content. In 2020, Gillis launched the online sketch series Gilly & Keeves with filmmaker John McKeever. He released his first comedy special, Shane Gillis: Live in Austin, on YouTube in 2021. His second special, Shane Gillis: Beautiful Dogs, was released on Netflix in 2023. As of 2024, Gillis stars in the Netflix comedy series Tires, which he co-created with McKeever and Steve Gerben. The series premiered its first season in May 2024, with a second season airing in June 2025 and a third season scheduled for 2026.
