Kate Champion: podcast appearances and interviews

Kate Champion is an Australian choreographer and artistic director. Since 2022 and as of 2024, she has served as the artistic director of the Black Swan State Theatre Company in Perth, Western Australia. She was the founding artistic director and CEO of Force Majeure dance company in Sydney from 2002 to 2015, where she co-devised and directed works such as Same, Same But Different and Not in a Million Years. Champion has created and performed critically-acclaimed solo shows including Face Value and About Face. Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards, including three Helpmann Awards. Her work spans theatre, dance, film, circus, opera, and musical theatre, collaborating with arts organizations such as Belvoir, Sydney Theatre Company, State Theatre Company of South Australia, The English National Opera, Opera Australia, and Hayes Theatre. She also choreographed the original stage adaptation of the film Dirty Dancing.
