Jose Andres: podcast appearances and interviews

José Ramón Andrés Puerta is a Spanish and American chef and restaurateur known for his culinary expertise and humanitarian efforts. Born in Spain on July 13, 1969, he moved to the United States in the early 1990s, where he established a successful career by opening restaurants in several American cities. Andrés has received numerous awards for his cooking, including several James Beard Awards, and is recognized for introducing the small plates dining concept to America. In addition to his culinary accomplishments, he is a professor and the founder of the Global Food Institute at George Washington University. Andrés is also the founder of World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing meals during natural disasters. His work with the organization earned him the 2015 National Humanities Medal at a White House ceremony in 2016. He has been honored with honorary doctorates from institutions such as Georgetown University, George Washington University, Harvard University, and Tufts University. In March 2022, Andrés was named as co-chair of the United States President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition, a role he held until his resignation in January 2025, shortly before President Donald Trump took office.
