Jon Gruden: podcast appearances and interviews

Jon David Gruden, born on August 17, 1963, is an American former football coach and media personality currently employed by Barstool Sports. He began his coaching career in college football and held positions as a position coach and offensive coordinator in the National Football League. Gruden's first head coaching role was with the Oakland Raiders during their tenure in Oakland from 1998 to 2001, where he achieved two division titles and an appearance in the AFC Championship Game. In 2002, he was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, whom he led to their first Super Bowl victory in Super Bowl XXXVII, making him the youngest head coach to win the Super Bowl at age 39. He served as the Buccaneers' head coach through 2008, setting franchise records for wins, although further playoff appearances were limited. Following his tenure with Tampa Bay, Gruden worked as an analyst for ESPN's Monday Night Football from 2009 to 2017. He returned to the Raiders as head coach in 2018 and remained until his resignation during the 2021 season amid revelations of emails containing racist, misogynistic, and homophobic content sent between 2011 and 2018. In 2023, Gruden was hired by the New Orleans Saints as an offseason consultant, assisting with offensive installation, particularly with quarterback Derek Carr, who was also his starting quarterback during his previous stint with the Raiders.
