Baker Reagan Mayfield, born on April 14, 1995, is an American professional football quarterback currently playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League. He began his college football career with the Texas Tech Red Raiders for one season before transferring to the Oklahoma Sooners, where he became the first walk-on player to win the Heisman Trophy. In the 2018 NFL draft, he was selected first overall by the Cleveland Browns. During his rookie year, Mayfield set an NFL record for passing touchdowns by a rookie quarterback and helped end a 19-game winless streak for the Browns in his debut.

His most notable season with the Browns was in 2020 when he led the team to their first playoff appearance since 2002 and their first playoff victory since 1994. After experiencing a decline in performance and conflicts with Browns management, Mayfield left Cleveland in 2022. He spent that year with the Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Rams before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2023. With the Buccaneers, he led the team to two consecutive division titles and a playoff victory. Additionally, he has earned two consecutive Pro Bowl selections and holds the record as the all-time leader in playoff passer rating.
