About John Green
John Michael Green, born on August 24, 1977, is an American author and YouTuber known for his impact on young adult fiction and online video communities. His books have sold more than 50 million copies worldwide, with The Fault in Our Stars (2012) being one of the best-selling books of all time. Green's distinctive voice and rapid rise to fame are credited with contributing to a major shift in the young adult genre. His debut novel, Looking for Alaska (2005), received the 2006 Michael L. Green is also recognized for his work in online media; he and his brother Hank Green launched the Vlogbrothers YouTube channel in 2007. The channel fostered an active online community called Nerdfighteria and initiated events such as the annual Project for Awesome fundraiser. His more recent works, including Turtles All the Way Down (2017) and The Anthropocene Reviewed (2018–2021), explore themes related to his personal experiences with anxiety and obsessive–compulsive disorder.
