Prior to this role, he was the Director for the United Nations at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2014 to 2017. Before that, he served as France's ambassador to Sweden beginning in 2011. Lacroix's appointment as Under-Secretary-General continued a two-decade tenure in the role, succeeding Hervé Ladsous. Born on May 2, 1960, he has built a career focused on international peace and security, representing France in various diplomatic capacities at the United Nations and abroad.
