Janet Ellis, born on 16 September 1955, is an English television presenter, actress, and writer. She is best known for her work on children's television programmes including Blue Peter and Jigsaw, which she presented between 1979 and 1987. In addition to her broadcasting career, Ellis has authored two novels, The Butcher's Hook published in 2016 and How It Was released in 2019. She is also the mother of three children, among them singer and songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
