Dame Arlene Phillips, born on 22 May 1943, is an English choreographer, theatre director, talent scout, former television judge, presenter, and dancer. She gained widespread recognition as a judge on the television shows Strictly Come Dancing from 2004 to 2008 and So You Think You Can Dance from 2010 to 2011. In addition to her television work, she has established a notable career in stage choreography, working on a variety of musicals. Her credits include the musical Starlight Express in 1987, Grease in 1993 and 2022, Saturday Night Fever in 1998, and Guys and Dolls in 2023. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her significant contributions to dance and theatre administration, as well as her influence on popular stage and television entertainment.
