J Harrison Ghee is an American actor, singer, and dancer known for their work on Broadway. They gained recognition for their performance as Lola in Kinky Boots and originated the role of Jerry/Daphne in the stage musical Some Like It Hot, which is based on the 1959 film of the same name. Ghee's portrayal in this production earned them the 2023 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical at the 76th Tony Awards. They made history as one of the first openly nonbinary actors to be nominated for and to win a Tony Award, sharing this distinction with Alex Newell. In 2024, Ghee received the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards. Additionally, they originated the role of Andre Mayem in the Broadway musical Mrs. Doubtfire, a role they previously performed at the 5th Avenue Theatre in 2019. Beyond their acting and singing credentials, Ghee is also recognized as a drag queen and a mental health advocate.
