George Robert Wendt Jr. was an American actor best known for his role as Norm Peterson on the NBC sitcom Cheers, which he portrayed from 1982 to 1993. Beyond Cheers, Wendt starred in the short-lived CBS sitcom The George Wendt Show in 1995.
