Gary Gensler: podcast appearances and interviews

Gary Gensler is an American professor of the Practice of Global Economics and Management and of Finance at the MIT Sloan School of Management. He previously served as the chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from 2021 to 2025. Gensler has a diverse background in government, finance, and academia. He served as the 11th chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission under President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2014. His federal government roles also include positions as the Under Secretary of the Treasury for Domestic Finance from 1999 to 2001 and as the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Financial Markets from 1997 to 1999. Prior to his government service, Gensler worked at Goldman Sachs where he was a partner and co-head of finance. He also served as the CFO for the Hillary Clinton 2016 presidential campaign. Gensler led the Biden–Harris transition's Federal Reserve, Banking, and Securities Regulators agency review team before his appointment at the SEC. He was nominated by President Joe Biden to serve as the 33rd chair of the SEC, succeeding Acting Chair Allison Lee.
