Eugene Levy: podcast appearances and interviews

Eugene Levy, born on December 17, 1946, is a Canadian actor and comedian known for his portrayals of flustered and unconventional characters. He gained prominence through his work on the sketch comedy series SCTV, which aired from 1976 until 1984. Levy is also recognized for his role in the American Pie film series and has been a frequent collaborator with actor-director Christopher Guest, appearing in and co-writing four of his films starting with Waiting for Guffman in 1996. From 2015 to 2020, Levy starred as Johnny Rose in the television series Schitt's Creek, which he co-created with his son and co-star Dan Levy. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to the performing arts, including a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media in 2004 for the song A Mighty Wind, which he co-wrote. Levy was honored with the Governor General's Performing Arts Award in 2008, Canada's highest recognition in the field, and was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2011. His performances have also earned him critical acclaim, culminating in a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2020.
