Erin Entrada Kelly: podcast appearances and interviews

Erin Entrada Kelly is an American writer recognized as one of the most celebrated children’s authors currently working. She has received the John Newbery Medal twice, first in 2018 for her novel Hello, Universe and again in 2025 for her book The First State of Being. Kelly also earned a 2021 Newbery Honor for We Dream of Space, and she was awarded the Award for Children's Literature from the Asian Pacific Librarians Association for her second novel The Land of Forgotten Girls. Her first work of nonfiction, At Last She Stood: How Joey Guerrero Spied, Survived, and Fought for Freedom, received a Sibert Honor. Kelly is one of only five authors to have won two Newbery Medals and a Newbery Honor. Her international recognition includes the Deutscher Jugendliteratur Preis for Vier Wünsche ans Universum, the German edition of Hello, Universe. In 2026, she received a Boston Globe-Horn Book Honor for The Second Life of Snap, which was praised as being exemplary dystopian fiction. Her body of work has contributed significantly to children’s literature and has garnered multiple prestigious awards and honors.
