Douglas Irvin Pederson, born on January 31, 1968, is an American football coach and former NFL quarterback. He played most of his 13-season career as a backup to Brett Favre with the Green Bay Packers, contributing to their victory in Super Bowl XXXI. Additionally, Pederson served as a backup to Dan Marino on the Miami Dolphins and was a starter for the Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns before retiring in 2004. He began his coaching career under Andy Reid as an assistant with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2009 to 2012. Following Reid to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013, Pederson was appointed the offensive coordinator for the team. In 2016, he returned to the Eagles to serve as their head coach, a role he held for five seasons. His most notable achievement as head coach was leading the Eagles to a Super Bowl LII victory in 2017, the franchise's first Super Bowl title. Pederson later became head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, a position he has held since 2022. During his tenure with the Jaguars, he guided the team to a division title and a playoff victory in 2022, demonstrating his continued impact as a professional football coach.
