Khaled Mohammed Khaled, known professionally as DJ Khaled, is an American DJ, rapper, and record producer born on November 26, 1975. Originally a Miami-based radio personality, he first gained recognition as a host on the radio station 99 Jamz in the 1990s. He expanded his career by working with Fat Joe's hip hop collective Terror Squad as a DJ and producer for their live performances. Khaled attributed his later success to his collaborations with various hip hop artists, which he featured on his debut studio album Listed at Number 1 in 2006. His subsequent albums, including We the Best in 2007, We Global in 2008, and Victory in 2010, achieved significant commercial success, with the latter's single All I Do Is Win earning triple platinum certification. Khaled's popularity grew with his fifth album We the Best Forever in 2011, which produced his first Billboard Hot 100 top ten single, I’m on One. His 2016 album Major Key debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 and received a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album. His tenth album Grateful in 2017 also topped charts, with singles like I’m the One and Wild Thoughts reaching number one and two on the Billboard Hot 100. Khaled won his first Grammy Award for the song Higher from his eleventh album Father of Asahd in 2019. Both his twelfth and thirteenth albums, including God Did in 2022, debuted at number one. Beyond music, Khaled has authored a best-selling book, acted in films such as Bad Boys for Life and its sequel, and contributed voice work to the animated film Spies in Disguise. His record label, We the Best Music Group, has signed several notable artists.
